The Wolf

The Dove

For the first time ever, mighty Wulfgar has been vanquished—and by a bold and beautiful princess of Saxon blood. He must have the chaste, sensuous enchantress who is sworn to his destruction. And he will risk life itself to nurture with tender passion a glorious union born in the blistering heat of hatred and war.

Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels, Book 4) by Ilona Andrews

Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren’t for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it rose.

Kate Daniels works for the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, officially as a liaison with the mercenary guild. Unofficially, she cleans up the paranormal problems no one else wants to handle—especially if they involve Atlanta’s shapeshifting community.

When she’s called in to investigate a fight at the Steel Horse, a bar midway between the territories of the shapeshifters and the necromancers, Kate quickly discovers there’s a new player in town. One who’s been around for thousands of years—and rode to war at the side of Kate’s father.

This foe may be too much even for Kate and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, to handle. Because this time, Kate will be taking on family.

This is one of my all-time favorite series. And Curran is one of the hottest alpha males - yummy! This is the best of the series so far.

Wow, what a great start to this new series! Can't wait for the next one. Max is one of the most interesting characters I've come across in a while. Hope there are many more books to the series, if they're as good as this one is.

Very entertaining. Though not as good as her novels, I enjoyed the stories. The bonus guide was the best, though. The interviews of the Lords of the Underworld by William are hysterical!

The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld) by Gena Showalter

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Gena Showalter returns with another sizzling installment of the Lords of the Underworld series as Aeron, keeper of the demon of wrath, finally meets his match...

For weeks, the immortal warrior Aeron has sensed an invisible female presence. An angel--demon-assassin--has been sent to kill him. Or has she? Olivia claims she fell from the heavens, giving up immortality because she couldn't bear to harm him. But trusting--and falling for--Olivia will endanger them all. So how has this "mortal" with the huge blue eyes already unleashed Aeron's darkest passion?

Now, with an enemy hot on his trail and his faithful demon companion determined to remove Olivia from his life, Aeron is trapped between duty and consuming desire. Worse still, a new executioner has been sent to do the job Olivia wouldn't....

(Information courtesy of Goodreads.com)

Though this wasn't my favorite in the series, it was still a great story. Olivia could be annoying at time, but she had her moments (like when she got drunk and gave Gideon her panties) when I loved her. All the Lords are hot.

A Hint of Wicked by Jennifer Haymore

CAUGHT BETWEEN DUTY AND DESIRE . . .

Sophie, the Duchess of Calton, has finally moved on. After seven years mourning the loss of her husband, Garrett, at Waterloo, she has married his best friend and heir, Tristan. Sophie gives herself to him body and soul. . . until the day Garrett returns from the Continent, demanding his title, his lands-and his wife.

TORN BETWEEN TWO HUSBANDS . . .

Now Sophie must choose between her first love and her new love, knowing that no matter what, her choice will destroy one of the men she adores. Will it be Garrett, her childhood sweetheart, whose loss nearly destroyed her once already? Or will it be Tristan, beloved friend turned lover, who supported her through the last, dark years and introduced her to a passion she had never known? As her two husbands battle for her heart, Sophie finds herself immersed in a dangerous game-where the stakes are not only love . . . but life and death.

(Information courtesy of Goodreads.com)

This was a hell of a story...but very depressing! Sophie loved both of these men, and it was going to be sad no matter which husband she chose! (The one she didn't choose? Well, his book is next, and I can't wait to read it!)

Night of the Huntress (Brotherhood of Blood, Book 2) by Kathryn Smith

Determined to deny that side of her, Irina captures Bishop, believing he can lead her to the vampire responsible for her mother's death. But over the course of Bishop's captivity, secrets about Irina's past are revealed and she soon learns that what she has always believed to be true is anything but. Now Irina and Bishop are in a race against time as they fight for their lives––and their love.

This is another "don't miss" series. These vamps are hot! The stories are great, and there's a little different take on vampires than other books in the genre. Bishop is thud worthy.
